Had some excellent chicken wings recently (pictured below!) and it reminded me that we have an excellent episode about Buffalo wings with comedian Amy Miller. In other news, I came across a cocktail menu from 1952 that listed a “frozen daiquiri, West Indies style.” This is perplexing me. Weren’t frozen drinks invented in the U.S. somewhere along the invention-of-blenders-then-Slurpee machines-then-margarita machines continuum? Or did frozen not mean blended in the ‘50s? Seriously, if you know, tell me.
I’m off to New York City next week. Any restaurant recommendations for Harlem, Chelsea, or Park Slope? Please let me know in the comments, along with any thoughts about the food-related tweets below. -Katherine

The Best Cheesecake in New Jersey
By Jessica Choi
Cheesecake has long been associated with dessert cases at diners and delis. It’s the old standard: familiar and reassuring.
Erie Bakery is a cozy shop on a side street in Rutherford, New Jersey that shares its love of cheesecake with its customers. Established in 2015 by Renee Faris, the small-batch bakery sells an international array of baked goods from za'atar man'ouche to Chinese-style almond cookies. And the perfect cheesecake.
Its spin on the classic New York-style cheesecake is a creation that is almost mousse-like, topped with fresh berries or caramel sauce or candied pumpkin seeds. No matter the topping, cheesecake is always on the menu, always good, and with just a little more pizzazz than the one at the deli. 10 Franklin Place, Rutherford, NJ 07070. eatdrinkerie.com.

Hmmm... pretty close to Park Slope is a bar I love called Barely Disfigured. It has a dark, almost Parisian vibe with jewel-toned accents, phenomenal cocktails, and some surprises. It's a little world of its own. Hope you enjoy your trip!
Katherine, if you're looking for a quick and delicious lunch in Park Slope, try Wangs on Union Street - tiny, woman-owned chicken joint.
