I order groceries once per week and haven't had many issues. I was once brought "regular" almond milk instead of "vanilla;" imagine the horror. I required a fainting couch after that ordeal. No, honestly it's been great to get a ton of groceries delivered to me at a scheduled time so that I can plan ahead the meals I will make for the week. I tend to get side-tracked by the cheese section and other exotic animal products so I find myself spending less money when I order online and in bulk and the items I get are simple enough that I don't need to be there to scrutinize the quality. The chicken is pre-packaged and, if it's inside the expiration date, cool. I am obsessed with cruciferous vegetables and they are hardy things which are hard to purchase in battered and bruised forms.

That is an interesting point about not getting sidetracked in the expensive sections! I think the grocery delivery fees are outrageous, but, when I'm in the store I am likely to impulse-buy fancy ice cream and stanky cheese .... hmmm. I have to rethink everything.

Very rarely I will use Postmates if I'm too hungover to move, but mostly try to actually go to restaurants on principle. I'd rather my money go directly to a local small business.

Delivery but it’s not that often maybe once a month, but always apps.

I get delivery, but rarely. I've never used any of the apps available here. I will order via the restaurant's own website though.

On principle, or just because?

I love podcasts and music, so I avoid unnecessary apps leaving me LOTS of space for the good stuff.

I forgot about that part! I usually use the delivery websites instead of the apps.

We live in the middle of nowhere. No delivery service for us!

I always opt for online options if possible to save us both the trouble of a noisy restaurant, a language barrier, and my shoddy Sprint service.

Effing SPRINT.

It’s basically a Dixie cup on a string.

I always use Seamless, unless the restaurant has its own online ordering system. My go-to burrito place gives you a 5% discount if you order from their website, but it seems like most places just redirect to Seamless and/or other apps if you try to order from them.

Apparently that's sometimes a scam done by the apps ... but then again, I don't know how the restaurants wouldn't notice that, pretty quickly.

I've heard about the scams with phone numbers, did they find some way to infiltrate websites too?

Here's one article I've read about it. It's crazy - if laws kept up with technology, I'm sure this would be illegal. https://www.theverge.com/2019/6/28/19154220/grubhub-seamless-fake-restaurant-domain-names-commission-fees

Ooh yes I do remember reading that. People are the worst.
