I want to go to Rome and eat artichokes. I also want to go to Provence for the freshest fruit and stankiest cheese. Bangkok for stir-fried noodles. Saigon for chả giò.
Where would you go and what would you eat, since we’re playing pretend?
Same on Vietnam and Thailand (never been to either place). Singapore to try the hawker stalls. If I had the time I'd want to tour Japan for the usual staples of sushi, ramen but also hop into a small, alley bar for a cocktail. Would love to go back to Mendoza for wine and some of the best steak I've ever had. Been told San Sebastian is a must visit for the seafood. In the US, would love to get back to Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood and eat carnitas, birria, and milanesa at a mom and pop place.
Watching travel food shows on YouTube is one of my favorite past times, so I would say my fantasies change everyday. I was planning on being in Berlin this spring and still thinking about all the doner kebab and Wiener schnitzel I will have one day 🥙🍺
Tofino, British Columbia for Dungeness crab. The Snohomish county fair for scones with raspberry jam. The Italian coast for linguini con fruitti di mare. Sardinia for cappuccino and croissants. Rifugio Fuciade in the Dolomites for the breakfast buffet.

I miss really good lunches at Paris bistros. I miss being squeezed in and hearing the locals speak and having table wine that is remarkable
I want to go down the street to this dinky pho restaurant, not because the food is good (it's average) but because I miss pho. :(

We were supposed to be in Mexico City right now, so I'm dreaming of the taco tasting menu at Pujol.
What a great question! For me I think maybe Maine for the lobster or maybe Sicily or S Italy for, well, so many things, but notably bread and olives.
